01 / ABOUT THE DISH

About the dish

Priška is an unleavened bread originating from the Croatian city of Benkovac. It consists of flour, salt, and water. In order to prepare it, the dough should be rolled in a circle, with a thickness of about 2 centimeters. The dough is then placed on a wooden surface with a long handle, called lopar , and it is baked under the lid called peka for about 30 minutes. Traditionally, the bread is torn into pieces by hand while it is still warm.
