Pastel Azteca

Description

Mexico's interpretation of lasagna is called pastel Azteca – a popular baked dish consisting of layered corn tortillas with shredded chicken, cheese, and salsa in between. The dish is traditionally prepared for birthdays and festivities since it can be made a day in advance. Hot chiles are often added for spiciness, while common accompaniments to the dish include fresh salads or refried beans.
